Wonderland Things

Wonderland Things is a series of large-scale 2D mixed-media constructions that continues my exploration of the formation, adaptation, and transformation of forms in the natural world. Created on substrates of Yupo and layered translucent Dura-Lar, these works incorporate fragments torn from old drawings and colored papers that are adhered and sewn onto the surface. The process is intentionally physical and at times brutal. Materials are cut, torn, layered, and reassembled, moving through a state of chaos and fragmentation toward beauty, balance, and harmony. Through this transformation, the works reflect the dynamic forces of growth, change, and renewal found in nature itself.

Unlike my earlier work, this series embraces the vivid colors of the natural world. Unconventional compositions invite viewers to look more closely, awakening and shifting their perception of the world around them while celebrating its complexity, energy, and wonder.
